Daylight Reflection: A Lively and Bright Scandinavian Residential Design

Bringing the Scandinavian Style to Life

In the entrance hall, the design team has incorporated black ash wood patterns on the ceiling, extending them to the beams. These beams, adorned with wood elements, are further illuminated by LED strips on both sides. Not only do they visually divide the height of the beams, but they also serve as indicators, guiding the eye and creating a sense of direction. The living room features a striking contrast between the blue wall and marble, while the study room showcases the combination of green iron and glass, separated by the beam. These design choices highlight the lively Scandinavian style and add a touch of vibrancy to the space.

The study partition, made of glass, maintains visual transparency and allows for ample lighting. Privacy can be easily achieved through the use of curtains or different types of glass. This clever design decision creates an additional room without compromising the overall sense of space.

With an area of 85.95 square meters, the Daylight Reflection project is a new house located on the 12th floor. It features three bedrooms, two bathrooms, a living room, and a dining room. The design team managed to maximize the layout without making any structural changes, adding a study room and a bay window to enhance the cozy atmosphere of the space.

The wiring of the kitchen ceiling was carefully planned to accommodate beams in both directions. This allowed for the concealment of air conditioning and dehumidifier equipment, maintaining the ceiling height of the living room and enhancing the sense of spaciousness. Additionally, the back wall of the sofa adds a pop of color and modern style, with a strip design that showcases fresh and soft colors.

The Daylight Reflection project was completed in August 2021 in Zhonghe Dist., New Taipei City, Taiwan. The design team drew inspiration from Scandinavian design principles and extended the bright and colorful atmosphere throughout the space. By carefully planning the routes and using the beams as defining points, the design achieved a sense of fluidity and cohesion. Overcoming challenges such as the non-square space and large beam widths, the team successfully created a harmonious and functional living environment.

Each window in the Daylight Reflection design offers a beautiful view, symbolizing the desire for a quiet and beautiful life. Natural light cascades onto the blue and green color matching designs, adding a unique texture to the space. Light-colored wood veneer is used to enlarge the spatial volume and soften the abruptness of the beams. The corridor, made of translucent glass, fills the room with natural light, creating an inviting and welcoming atmosphere.
